One of the questions I am most asked by people who attend the gym is “what is the fastest way they can lose weight?” Many people who come to the gym do so because they want to lose weight in a short amount of time, probably because they have an event coming up that will mean they will have to expose some of their body. One of the busiest times of the year for me is a month or two before the summer weather begins and people want to start wearing more revealing clothing.
It is definitely possible to lose weight fast and the best exercise to lose weight fast is not a mystery, in fact, there are several that are very effective. The problem is people often have unrealistic expectations about how quickly they are going to lose weight. That said, there are some exercises that are worth doing that will burn calories and help you lose weight faster than others. What is most important however is that you find an exercise that you like as the best exercise to lose weight fast is going to be one you can do over and over, therefore in this article I’m going to give examples of some of the best exercises if you are looking to lose weight quickly.
Step Aerobics
Losing weight is all about increasing the number of calories you are burning and decreasing the amount of calories you are taking it. Step aerobics is an activity that burns around 800 calories an hour and is a very intense form of exercise that will be particularly effective for people targeting weight loss around the legs.
The Elliptical Workout
The elliptical trainer has a serious benefit over the treadmill and this is that people who exercise on it perceive themselves to be working out less intensively. This means that you can spend longer on the device and ultimately burn more calories than you might be able to with a treadmill. Using the elliptical trainer will burn around 600 calories an hour but it certainly won’t feel like it!
Rowing
Rowing is an exercise that is great for burning calories but it also has the additional benefit that it will exercise the muscles throughout your body. Doing some muscular workout in addition to your cardio will mean you have a stronger body and will be able to exercise for longer which means ultimately you will be able to burn more calories. Rowing is an exercise that manages to build muscle strength while also being an intense cardio workout, burning around 600 calories an hour.
Walking
I know this article is about burning calories fast but this does not necessarily mean it’s about how much you can earn in an hour. If you have plenty of time in the day then walking for many hours is going to burn more calories than running intensively for one hour.
