What Is The Best Ab Machine For Building Core Muscles?
Arguably the biggest problem people have when they come to the gym is that they have an obsession with building visible muscles. I often have people coming to me and asking what are the best ways to build their arms and shoulders and develop a visible sixpack, and this is all well and good but it’s important that you don’t underestimate the importance of building your core muscles.
When I tell people the value that can be gained from building your core muscles they quickly understand how it is an important foundation of building the rest of your body. If your core muscles are strong then you will find it easier to build muscles everywhere else, if however you neglect your core muscles then you are going to find it very difficult to gain significant muscle mass.
Of course, once I have established this in a client’s mind the next question is going to be about the best ab machine for building these core muscles. While there is no specific answer to this question as there are many different types of that machine for different types of muscle building.
The Stability Ball
I suppose this is not technically an ab machine but it is something that will allow you to build your core strength in a very effective way. While this is called a ‘stability’ ball it actually works because it makes you unstable. When the body is unstable it has to do a lot of work to make it balance and most of this work is done by the abdominal muscles. If you want to build your abdominal muscles in a very effective way then it is worthwhile spending some time using this piece of equipment.
The Rowing Machine
When we’re discussing the best ab machine it would seem strange to suggest something that is generally associated with cardiovascular exercise, but the rowing machine is one of the most useful pieces of equipment you can find in a gym. The device works out almost all parts of the body and if you are using it correctly it can be an intense workout for your core abdominal muscles.
The Seated Ab Machine
This is one of the most common pieces of equipment you will find a gym and it is specifically designed to target core abdominal muscles. It also works out a few of your leg muscles as well but its real focus is on the abs. The seated machine is a very focused type of exercise and it allows you to focus entirely on building the strength in the core of your abs and little else. If you are looking for definition then it is useful to use other pieces of equipment as well but if you are looking for strength this is perfect for you.
