I’ve tried various types of milk because I didn’t want to stick to the regular cow milk which is so delicious especially if drank from a carton and served cold. It has made me put on so much weight! I’ve come across a lot of milk alternatives and I’ve found almond milk as one of the best. Almond milk contains a lot of nutrients that can be extracted easily by juicing. It is very easy to prepare and it has helped me control my overall weight gain. However, a lot of misconceptions have been published about almond milk. Is almond milk bad for you? Are these misconceptions myths or the truth?

From my experience, almond milk has brought me numerous benefits and no disadvantages. Some nutritional facts on almond milk are:

Almond milk is loaded with a lot of nutrients like magnesium, potassium, manganese, vitamin E and selenium to name a few. These vitamins make your bones dense and repair faster, your heart function properly, keep your immune system healthy and aids in reproductive functions. You can also avail of fortified almond milk which contains more calcium and vitamin D content. This makes it a better replacement for regular cow’s milk.

Aids In Weight Management

Almond milk also contains protein. Protein is essential in any living cell because protein makes the body processes function. If you work out, protein will actually promote faster muscle recovery. Almond milk has no saturated fat. Almond milk helps in reducing your overall body fat. Almond milk also contains Fiber. Fiber promotes better digestion and helps you feel fuller without munching on too many calories. It is also one of the best sources of omega fatty acids. Omega fatty acids cannot be produced by the body that is why you need to get your daily source of it from food. This nutrient helps reduce your risks of acquiring cardio vascular diseases. Omega fatty acids also lessen the tendencies of fatigue enabling you to work out more.

Can Prevent Alzheimer’s

Studies have shown that the vitamin D content of almond milk can prevent Alzheimer’s disease. A particular study was made by respondents 65 years old and above and it proved that those with the lowest level of vitamin D show clear signs of cognitive decline.
