3 Most Effective Work Out Plans To Lose Weight

Have you spent what seems to be a lifetime looking for effective weight loss plans? With all the news ones coming on what sometimes seems like on a daily basis, it’s easy to see why you might feel this way.

I must say, that of all of the ones I’ve tried, and believe me, I’ve tried a lot, the most effective ones seem to be those that focus on functional fitness.

Functional Fitness

Would you be able to walk five miles if your car broke down? Or carry an injured person to safety? What about cut wood for the winter? Exercises that focus on functional fitness prepare you to do these activities.

Training involves doing the physical movements that you need to do in real life like lifting, pushing, pulling, running, throwing, and punching. Now don’t go around thinking that I punch people. But you never know when it might come in handy during an emergency.

Anyway, back to functional fitness. You can see where the term “functional” comes from. These exercises help you function, literally. You can chop wood for the winter. You can carry your groceries without being in pain the next day. You can lift heavy boxes. In other words, you aren’t a weakling.

The Programs

A program that incorporates:

  • Gymnastics
  • Power lifting
  • Plyometrics
  • Kettelbells
  • Dumbbell Exercises
  • Rowing
  • Running
  • Jump-roping
  • Rope Climbing
  • Medicine Ball Throwing

Getting involved in these activities is going to be great for your body because it is always changing and keeping it guessing. Plus, you don’t get bored. A workout plan called Crossfit does just that. Even if you can’t make it to a Crossfit session, take a look at the theory behind it and try to incorporate it into your own workout session.

If you aren’t into these types of activities, you might be interested in a workout that involves more body-weight exercises combined with cardio. That’s what you get from Monkey Bar Gym. You can go to their website and get your exercise instructions for the day. Since you are using your body weight for many of the exercises, it might actually be a bit harder than Crossfit and a bit boring at times due to all the reps you have to do. Still it is a good way to get your functional workout.

Another exercise plan that’s similar to Crossfit and Monkey Bar is P90X.

It is a bit different because you have to order it. You end up getting a nutrition plan plus a set of 10 DVDs. However, people who do the program give it two thumbs up. They praise it in terms of overall strength, wellness, and physique.

It switches things up so you and your body don’t get bored and many of the exercises are similar to the Crossfit routine.

Even though I’ve concentrated on three specific workouts, the best workout plan is the one that you enjoy doing, will continue to do, and helps you meet your goal. For some it will be set plans like these, for others it will be doing the daily chores on their farm. If you enjoy it, the results will come.
