3 Best Ab Machines For Home To Make Your Ab Workout Complete

Although free weights and general exercises can be great for working on your abs, there comes a point when many people want to expand their workout even further. The best way to do that of course is by incorporating new exercises into your routines and ab machines can be a great way of doing that, but going to the gym everyday might not be feasible for many people. So what’s the solution?

Well the obvious solution is to bring the gym home – invest in some good ab machines. But while there is no doubt that buying gym equipment can be a great investment if done correctly, it can also be a great waste of money if spent unwisely and so I’m here to tell you the three best ab machines you can purchase for your home to make your ab workout complete.

Stability Ball

This is probably the first piece of gym equipment you should invest in. A stability ball is easily incorporated into almost every single exercise you can perform, whether it is related to your abs or not. Pushups, sit-ups, crunches, planks, all can be performed with stability balls. This is especially useful when you’ve been performing the same exercise for a wall and want to make your workout a little more challenging. Also, because stability balls are highly economical and affordable, they are the perfect addition to any home gym.

Ab Roller

Another affordable yet versatile option is the ab roller. Although the core exercise you perform with an ab-roller is crunches, there are still a great many variations you can adopt. Furthermore, it is a good piece of equipment to purchase for the home because there are very safety hazards to be concerned with. Providing ample support for your back and neck, there is little to no risk of muscle strain.

Performing the exercise is simple enough – you get into position, and then perform your crunches as normal, but while holding onto a foam bar located above your head. This makes a great difference to the regular crunches you are probably accustomed to performing, and because it is a relatively inexpensive upgrade, ab rollers are definitely one of my top 3 ab workout machines to purchase for the home.

Captain’s Chair

Now this is a slightly larger investment to look into. A captain’s chair does cost more than a stability ball or an ab roller, but the functionality you get out of this machine is amazing. Located in most gyms, it is characterized by its distinct appearance of an elevated chair without the seat. There are a number of different exercises you can perform with this machine, and so it’s higher cost is more than justified.

These are my top 3 machines to buy for your home to complete your ab workout, but what machine you ultimately buy depends on what you are most comfortable with and which exercises you most enjoy performing. At the end of the day consistency is the key to success and if you don’t enjoy the exercises you are performing, you won’t be able to keep them up for very long.
